The Streak Continues...
The Waterloo Minor Atom AAA Wolves continued on their hot streak this past weekend collecting another two wins to up their league record to a very impressive 9-1-1 to hold down first place by one point over the Kitchener Junior Rangers who have one game in hand.



On Saturday, the Wolves spoiled a Hockey Day Celebration held in Komoka by defeating an impressive Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs team by a score of 4-2. The Chiefs came out flying and had an early 1-0 lead in the first minute of play. That lead was short lived with the Wolves storming back. The line of Jake MacDonald, Preston Young and Kyle Maloney were very impressive with MacDonald scoring 2 goals and Maloney collecting two assists. The other goal scorers were Owen Parsons and Jake Thompson who each had one. Single assists were earned by Jaxson Murray, Brayden Hislop while Ryan McGeown contributed two assists from the back line.

On Sunday, the Wolves defeated the Sarnia Junior Sting 8-1. The line of MacDonald, Maloney and Preston Young were especially strong once again as they were in on every goal, add in Kyle Cupolo with Austin Stemmler from the back line the 5 man unit notched up an incredible +8 rating in the game. Both Preston Young and Kyle Maloney collected hat tricks with Jake MacDonald notching a pair. MacDonald also collected 4 assists while Young and Maloney had two each. Austin Stemmler also had a strong offensive game chipping in with 3 assists while Cooper Way and Kyle Cupolo had 1 assist each. The boys travel to Sun County and then to Windsor this coming Saturday.
