Derek Schoenmakers

Derek Schoenmakers returns for his second season as Head Coach within the WMHA organization, having served as the Coach for the U16 AAA Wolves for the 2023/24 season. Prior to that, Derek served as the lead Assistant Coach for the U18 Kitchener Jr. Rangers for 3 Years. 

Derek’s playing career saw him play his minor hockey in the Alliance, before making the jump to the GOJHL for two years followed by 4 years in the OHL, including finishing with the hometown Kitchener Rangers. Derek then proceeded to play four years at Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating with a degree in Economics. ×

This is Brian's 5th year with the U18AAA Wolves and over this time his teams have amassed several tournaments wins, an Alliance championship, and an Alliance finals appearance.×
