Building Momentum at Home
The Waterloo Wolves Minor Atom AAA team
showed determination and some great team work over the weekend and were
rewarded with 2 big home wins.
Cambridge Hawks were coming off a successful tournament the weekend prior, and were pumped to do some damage and move up in the standings.
On Saturday, the Wolves went down 2 goals early to the visiting Cambridge Hawks but managed to climb back into the game and win 3-2 with a convincing effort in the third. Goal scorers were Spencer Young, Austin Stemmler and Jaxson Murray. Assists went to Jacob Thompson (x2), Ryan McGeown, Jaxson Murray and Owen Parsons.
On Sunday the boys came out flying and the game was never in question as the Wolves rolled over the Chatham-Kent Cyclones 8-0. Goalie Marshall Nicholls had the shutout in net while Spencer Young and Kyle Maloney led the way with 2 goals each. Other goal scorers were Brayden Hislop, Jake Thompson, Preston Young and Cooper Way. Assists went to Kyle Cupolo (x3), Austin Stemmler, Preston Young, Jaxson Murray, Spencer Young, Brayden Hislop, Kyle Maloney and Cooper Way. Great weekend boys!
