Black Wolves and Hamilton Reps Play to Another Overtime Draw
The Waterloo Pee Wee Black Wolves had to get out of Waterloo in a hurry on a school day to head to Hamilton for game 3 of their playdown series.

A Wolves win would put them in control of the six point series.  A loss would even the series at three points.  The Wolves knew that Hamilton would be ready to play and give them all they could handle in the first period.  It was the Wolves who responded first however when Jeff Young took the puck at his blueline and skated down the ice.  He took the Hamilton defenseman wide and cut in hard towards the goal where he was able to slide the puck between the Hamilton goaltender's legs.  The score remained that way into the second period until the Reps capitalized on a five on three power play to tie the game at ones.  The Wolves were in tough in the third when they were forced to kill off a five minute major but the Wolves' penalty killers were up to the task.  With just over a minute left in the game, Hamilton were also given a five minute major penalty.  The Reps were able to kill off the first minute and send this one into overtime.  The Wolves were still in a great position with four minutes left on the power play but the Hamilton penalty killers were very aggressive and did a great job of limiting the Wolves' scoring chances.  This game would end in another 1-1 overtime tie.  Matthew Schmidt had a strong game on D and was named the game's Hardest Worker.  Brandon Thompson made several key saves in this one to keep the Wolves in the game.  He made a spectacular save in the second when he slid across the crease to rob the Hamilton forward of a sure goal.  The Wolves now lead the series four points to two.  They will try to get the final two points required on Saturday when they host the Reps at RIM Park.
