Waterloo Black Takes Series Lead
With both teams tied with 3 points, the Battle of Waterloo resumed at RIM Park on Wednesday night.

The first period saw both teams have some good scoring chances but it was Waterloo Black that got on the board first.  Some good work down low by Zack Walsh led to a quick pass out front that was banged in by Erik Larsson.  Jacob McMahon picked up the second assist.  Early in the second, with the Black up 1-0, Brett McLearon made the save of the game when he took away a sure goal from Gold.  Black then extended their lead to two goals off an offensive zone face-off.  Walsh outmuscled a Gold defender for a loose puck and fed the puck across to a wide open Mason Evans who made no mistake.  Jeff Young also assisted on the play.  Before the second period ended, Tyrell Brown found Jakob Stankowitsch in the slot and his wrist shot found the back of the net to make it 3-0.  Black kept up the pressure in the third and added one more goal to make it 4-0 when Jeremy Nejadrasoul banged in a rebound from a McMahon shot.    Drayton Duckett was named the Hardest Worker for Waterloo Black.

The series resumes tomorrow night at RIM Park at 6:00 p.m.
