Novice Timber Wolves vs Hespeler Shamrocks
Not the start at the Preston Invitational Tournament the boys were hoping for as they fell to the Hespeler Shamrocks 4 - 2 in early morning play but it was a very solid performance.

The boys did an excellent job working on puck control and passing to the open winger every opportunity while the defense ensured that Jacob Craig saw any shot toward the net. Some very good rushes up the ice went unrewarded as a couple of posts were hit. The Wolves tied the score up at 1 a piece as Thomas Chan dished the puck in front of the Hespeler net allowing Cole Hunsberger to fire a quick shot on net.

The second period was similar to the first as the team battled for the puck deep in the Hespeler zone. Knotting things up at 2, Jake Patterson grabbed a loose puck high in the slot and rocketed a low shot along the ice beating the netminder just under his stick. Jacob Craig did an excellent job in net all game as he thwarted several scoring attempts and flashed his leather once again.

Nice effort to start the tournament boys. We saw you working hard, moving your feet and have an aggressiveness thirst to get the puck. Keep going.

Good luck against Richmond Hill this afternoon
