MINOR MIDGET AAA WOLVES SEMI FINALISTS AT MARLIES TOURNEY
The Waterloo Minor Midget AAA Wolves entered the Marlies Holiday Classic Tournament with a motto of "EMPTY THE TANK"..........and that they did.
The Wolves entered the Marlies tournament ranked #9 in the OHL Cup Rankings and set out to look to put forth a great showing in the tournament.
In round robin play the Wolves finished with an impressive 3-0-1 record only giving up 2 goals against in the 4 games. This was good enough to win the division that included #6 ranked Hamilton Jr Bulldogs. This secured the Wolves the #2 seed in the round of 16
In the round of 16 the Wolves faced a very tough and structured Quinte Devils. With the Wolves down 2-1 in the 3rd they pressed on scoring 2 goals in the 3rd to win 3-2.
In the quarter Finals the Wolves faced the tough #5 ranked Barrie Jr Colts. With 2:43 remaining the Wolves scored to tie it at 1 and then a minute later scored the game winner to win 2-1
In a very exciting semi final versus the #3 ranked Jr Canadiens this proved to be an epic battle with game going back and forth. Regulation was not enough to solve it as it ended 3-3. The first OT solved nothing and in the 2nd OT the Jr Canadiens found the back of the net and ended the WOlves impressive week.
