Former Waterloo Minor Hockey Player Kyle Wood (96 Born) has signed with the Arizona Coyotes. In his Minor Midget year Kyle scored 15 goals and added 34 assists before getting drafted by North Bay Battalion. Congrats to Kyle and good luck from Waterloo Minor Midget program

Coyotes brought defensive prospect Kyle Wood into their system at the 2016
trade deadline, as the team brought him in as part of the return for forward
and pending free agent Mikkel Boedker.
Now, they’ve inked him to an entry-level deal, ensuring he can join the team’s system as soon as this spring.
Wood’s deal was confirmed on Saturday evening, when the league granted approval for the three-year deal worth an annual average of $717,500. He’ll be eligible to join the club at the end of his OHL post-season with the North Bay Battalion, who have played in one game so far during the CHL playoffs.
Initially drafted in the third round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Avalanche, Wood stands at 6 foot 5 and 223 lbs. He’s coming off his fourth season within the Battalion’s system, recording eight goals and 39 points through 49 games this year to finish the regular season as the second-highest scoring blue liner on his team with 19 games in hand on the rest of the team. So far, he has one assist in his one post-season game with the club.
Once the Battalion are eliminated from the post-season, he’ll be eligible to be reassigned to the AHL’s Springfield Falcons, whom he can play with full-time starting in the 2016-17 season.
