Game 26
Burlington Bulldogs come to Waterloo for our last game before the Alliance.

Time to start another winning streak.  Back to basics, let's out work them, keep the pressure on.  They are a hard working team and they play their positions well.  The first period is underway, both teams are skating hard and neither team seems to be able to get a presence in the offensive zone.  Shots are few and from a distance, no real scoring chances. With 45 seconds left in the first the Bulldogs take a holding penalty. Baker wins the face off back to Logel. His low shot deflects off something and goes low on the short side 3 seconds into the penalty for a power play goal and a 1-0 Wolves lead. The first ends with the shots 3-2 in favour of the Bulldogs.  1 1/2 minutes into the 2nd we pick up a penalty. 1 minute into the penalty we have the puck in our end and as we go to clear it out of our end, the shot hits a meandering referee in the shin at the face off dot and bounces right into the slot onto one of the Bulldogs sticks. He shoots and puts it short side to make it a 1-1 game. With 3 minutes left in the 2nd we get a 3 on 1 and Carr-Pries under duress works his way to the right side. He loses the puck and then regains it for shot. The puck goes off the post and behind the goalie.  The pursuing posse shows up and Hooper gets a stick on it but the puck isn't cooperating as it just changes direction in the paint. Haffey offers to help out and jams it in the empty net for a 2-1 lead. The second ends with the shots 6-6.  The 3rd period is ours as Burlington gets into penalty trouble and takes 3 in the period.  We control possession and out shoot them 11-0 in the 3rd but were unable to add to our lead.  The final was 2-1 for the Wolves, shots were 19-9 for the Wolves. Hardest worker goes to Carr-Pries.  Next week we meet a new opponent in the Woodstock Navy Jets, let's get primed for a good showing.
