Game 31
Game 2 of the Alliance Championship, we're up against the Brantford Saints and attempting to acquire the #1 seed.

The boys jumped out of the gate and took control from start to finish.  We controlled the puck in their end for most of the 1st half of the first but couldn't get one behind the goalie.  At 4:20 of the 1st the dam broke. Baker walks out from the right corner and fires off the goalie's mask. The puck goes up and is falling behind him and Schal takes a whack at it and it's still loose behind the goalie and Mirt jams it in. 1-0 Wolves. 30 seconds later Perfuss takes the puck deep into the right corner and feeds Witzel beside the net and he jams it under the goalie on the short side for a 2-0 lead.  40 seconds later Hooper has the puck low in the left corner and feeds it to Carr-Pries in the slot.  Carr-Pries finishes high glove side and it's 3-0. 12 seconds later Mirt carries the blue line and fires hard and low. The rebound comes to Schal who fires again and the rebound comes to Baker who puts it away for the 4-0 lead which brings us to the end of the 1st. Shots on goal 15-3 Wolves. 1 1/2 minutes into the 2nd Beech has the puck at the Saints blue line. Beech fires hard and low and Hooper tips the puck past the goaltender for a 5-0 lead. 9 seconds later Baker wins the face off at centre back to Droog. Droog passes right back to Baker and he comes down the left side and at the hash marks fires low short side off the goalies stick and in. 6-0 Wolves. 25 seconds later Mackenzie gains the zone and gives to Pernfuss who goes down low on the left side and slides it across the front of the net and it goes off the goalies pad and through his legs. 7-0 Wolves. 18 seconds later Carr-Pries carries deep on the left side and feeds Hooper trailing in the slot and he fires inside the left post. 8-0 Wolves. Quite the flurry with 4 goals in 1:52 seconds. We control the play but no more scoring for the last 12 minutes of the 2nd. Shots were 27-4 Wolves in the 2nd. We start the 3rd on the power play. 11 seconds in Haffey is down low in the left corner and feeds Hooper in the slot who goes short side again just inside the post. Hatty for Hooper, 9-0 Wolves. With about 6 minutes left in the 3rd the Saints pick off a break out pass and put the puck out front. The puck is sitting in the slot the defender has his man tied up but he gets stick loose and gets one on net low in the left corner and the Saints are on the board. 9-1 Wolves. With a minute to go Baker has the puck low in the left corner. He passes to Schal at the left face off dot who slides it to Mirt in the slot who goes top shelf glove side. That brings us to our final score. 10-1 Wolves. Final shots were 59-9 Wolves. Hardest worker goes to Hooper. Not easy to stick to our systems in this type of game. Overall we stayed patient and got the puck to the open man. The system is your friend and it did you well tonight.  You showed a lot of class not celebrating after the goals, but just continuing to go about your business in claiming the #1 seed.  Mission accomplished.  The quarter finals are next on the list.

Burn the Ships!!
