Game 29
Final game of the season wraps up in Woodstock.

Final game before the Alliance, stay out of the box, good hustle, stick to the basics.  We have the big ice tonight, let's move the puck and use the ice.  Playing 3 15's tonight so we get in some extra ice time.  The puck drops and we are off to a quick start into their end.  1 1/2 minutes in Haffey gets the puck to Hooper and he gets a shot off. The rebound comes to Carr-Pries and he puts it away for the 1-0 lead.  The boys are doing a great job of controlling the play and we end up back in their end at the 7 1/2 minute mark. Haffey has the puck on the right hand side, working in closer to the net as he approaches the goal line.  At just the right time Haffey slides the puck cross crease for a one timer by Carr-Pries into the short side and it's 2-0 Wolves.  That's where we stood at the end of the first period. Shots on goal were 21 - 1 in favour of the Wolves.  Dominant period, making good use of the big ice.  The second is more of the same but the Navy Vets aren't backing down. 5 minutes into the 2nd Haffey steals a puck and works down the right side and beats the defensman. He has enough time to load and fire top shelf over the glove into the mesh on top of the net. 3-0 Wolves. 1 minute later O'Neill feeds Baker, he crosses their blue line on the left side and sizes up the shot.  Baker fires hard on the ice into the right corner for a 4-0 lead. The second ends with the shots 19-6 in favour of the Wolves. We get a flood between periods and have a chat with the boys. The 3rd period is quick with not to many whistles.  We have a few chances and the Navy Vet's are only able to muster one shot from inside the hash marks in the 3rd.  The final is 4-0 Wolves with the shot total being 48-11 for the Wolves.  Hardest worker goes to Haffey.  Great job, nice way to wrap things up. Let's get ready for the Alliance and the final push toward our day one goal.

Burn the Ships!!
