Game 22
Richmond Hill Tournament Bantam Select Champions. Yeah Baby, It's sounds even better the second time around.

Ok, we're on the doorstep, time to put the cherry on top.  Halton Hills will be ready, they have shown great speed and stick to their systems. We need to stay aggressive and get those pucks to the net. We're 1-1 during the season, great time to break the tie.  The game starts fast and both teams are up and down the ice.  3 minutes in #20 for the Thunder picks off a pass and breaks for the blue line.  Our defender blows a tire and goes down and #20 is in all alone. He fires a wrist shot half way up the right post and in.  We're down 1-0. 2 minutes later we have the puck in their end, Haffey is against the boards at the hash marks with the puck.  He finds Baker in the high slot. Baker goes bar down on the glove side and it's 1-1. So we have a game here. The next face off the puck ends up in our end and it looks like we have a chance to clear but it ends up on a Thunder's stick down low.  He feeds it out front and Fahmy tries to poke it away and it ends up on another Thunder stick and in the back of the net as Fahmy's outstretched leg was a little too short. The ref's deliberate and wave it off, saying the net had been knocked off. 2 minutes later the Wolves are deep in the Thunders end again. Carr-Pries steals a puck behind the net and wraps around for the 2-1 lead. The Thunder are not happy since 2 minutes ago they were winning 1-0.  They come out with a jump to them on the next face off. Puck is deep in the right corner. The Thunder win the battle for the puck, as he walks out seemingly from behind the goaline, he let a shot go and it ends up going 5 hole and we're knotted at 2. Great 1st period, both teams showing their determination. Shot's after the 1st 6-5 for the Wolves. The second period both teams seemed to take care of their end and neither team seemed to get the breakouts going as the defense was anticipating the plays and turning their opponent away. The 2nd ends with the shots 5-2 in favour of the Wolves. Ok this is for all the marbles. 3rd period is underway and just over a minute in the Thunder feed #20. He comes down the left side, crosses the blue line and tees one up and hits pay dirt 1 foot off the ice inside the right post. Thunder 3, Wolves 2. After an early flurry from the Thunder the play was again up and down the rink. Great pace and we just need to get more pucks to the net. Coach Hooper asks when do you want to pull the goalie. There is 2:12 on the clock. Let's go on the next whistle or 1:30 which ever comes first. Coach Hooper yells to Farnham to be ready. With 1:40 on the clock Pernfuss picks up the puck at the Thunder blue line. He's inside the left face off dot and cuts low across the front of the net and fires 5 hole. The beautiful sound of the puck hitting the back of the net let the bench know we have a game to win. Tied at 3's, here we go. We win the face off and the puck is shot deep into the Thunder end. A battle in the left corner ensues, and somehow the puck gets to Haffey out front of the left post and he flips one high inside the right post with 45 seconds left and we are up 4-3. The Thunder is in disbelief, and our bench is rockin. The next face off is won and we regroup and send it back up the left side. The Thunders net is empty and they try to put it up the boards and it goes out of play. Another face off at centre and the puck comes to Schal on the left wing and he fires it deep into the centre of the empty net with 14 seconds to go and we're up 5-3 and I think I can hear her singing. Final is 5-3, great resolve to pull out the dramatic victory. Final shots were 18-18. The hardest worker went to the entire Bantam Select Wolves Team. What away to win, super job over the whole weekend. Thanks to all the coaches and to Shannon our statistician.
