The Wolves jumped out to an early lead but could not pull off the victory as they lost 3 - 1 against Kitchener
Right from the opening face off, Cole Hunsberger scooped up a loose puck and darted towards the Kitchener net. With Thomas Chan as his wingman, Maverick and Goose passed the puck back and forth. You take it Thomas, no you take it Cole, thanks but back to you Thomas. No, I insist said Thomas as the puck worked its way back to Cole who shoveled it under the Kitchener goalie. All that in just 13 seconds of the game. The boys kept the pressure in the Kitchener zone with plenty of hard fore-checking and shots on net. When called upon, Austin Zappitelli stopped all the scoring attempts that Kitchener could muster!
A tough two periods and playing with a man or two down, the Wolves could not hold Kitchener off of the score sheet. Austin made a lot of glove and blocker saves to keep the Wolves in the game. On a single rush up the ice, Cole Hunsberger deked the same man out 4 times but could not seal the deal with a goal. Quade Willson went for a skate up the ice with his team on the penalty kill but could not get the puck in the net.
