Novice Timber Wolves vs Kitchener Jr Rangers Red
Kitchener Red took the first game of the 3 games series with a score of 4 - 2 against our boys.

The team played a very respectable and fast paced game at home. The wolves held Kitchener at the blue line each time they tried to get in deep. The physical presence in front of net minder Jacob Craig was spectacular. Kitchener could not maintain any type of screen in front of the net as the defense cleared away the few who dared to go to the net. Late in the first, Griffin Beddis won the face off draw clean and drew the puck to his wingman, Tim Hodson. Tim dropped the puck over to Jake Patterson. Jake faked the shot and then made his way to the net as he lifted the puck giving the boys the lead 1 - 0.

The second period was more of the same style of play. It was like watching a chess match. Sweet moves and counter moves up and down the ice as Waterloo pushed Kitchener against the boards.

Jake Patterson picked up his second goal of the game on a nifty tic tac toe play to bring the team within one goal of the lead. Defensemen Jack Droumtsekas picked up the loose puck near the blueline. Jack skated to the middle then passed the puck over to the left winger Tim Hodson, who tapped the puck over to Thomas Chan, who the tapped the puck to Jake, who snuck in from the blueline and wristed the puck high glove side on the Ranger goalie. Whew.

Good game boys. Both Jake Patterson and Tim Hodson were ever so close to picking up a Gordie Howe Jr hatrick with a goal, an assist and a penalty! Nice try boys.

Jake Patterson received the hardest worker hat for his two goals and one penalty in the game.

Tim Hodson gets the player assist stick for his two assists. (and a penalty). Looks like there is a new sheriff in town boys.

Good luck next week as you take on Kitchener in the grudge match!
