Novice Timber Wolves vs Hamilton Huskies Blue
The Timber Wolves pick up the win against Hamilton Huskies Blue by a score of 4 - 3.

Austin Zappitelli stood on his head this afternoon as he came up with no less than 30 huge show stopping saves to give his team 2 points. The line of Griffin Beddis, Ethan Wasylyshyn and Finn Skuterud have been turning the heat up these past few games with a much welcome physical presence in front of the opponent's net. Ethan and Finn played "pass the puck" back and forth in order to distract Hamilton. Then, when the coast was clear, Finn dished the puck over to Griffin who knocked the goalie's water bottle off the top of the net tying the game up at 1. With 39 seconds left in the period, the magical wizardry of Thomas Chan and Cole Hunsberger allowed the team to take the lead and never look back. Jude Hawthorn stopped a breakout pass in the offensive zone and cycled the puck down low to Thomas. Thomas faked the wrap around and slid the puck out front to Cole who was on a career high 15 game scoring streak. Make that 16 games now.

The boys padded their lead making it 3 - 1 to start the 2nd period. Declan Uniac dumped the puck deep in the Huskies zone and then chased it down. With 3 defenders on his tail, Declan passed the puck back to the point where iron man Aidan MacKinnon was patiently waiting. Aidan's slap pass over to the stick of Thomas was spectacular. Thomas dragged the puck to his backhand and then quickly flipped it over to his forehand leaving the left side of the net wide open for the goal.

The boys added another goal in the 3rd as Matthew Johnstone slid the puck over to his defensive partner Aidan MacKinnon for the clear shot on net. Aidan let it fly. With Seamus Riley-McKay sitting on the doorstep, he redirected the puck just enough to sneak it through the 5 hole. That was all Austin needed to see as he shut the door the rest of the way home. Hamilton threw the kitchen sink, and anything else they could get their hands on, but could not get anything past Austin.

Great game boys. We got it all on video for you to show your kids when you get older!

The team voted Austin Zappitelli hardest worker of the game. Rightly so.

Iron man Aidan MacKinnon took home the player assist stick for his two assists on the day. (That's 3 assists in two games AND nearly one break-away goal - Holy Mac-in-Naw!)

Keep working hard team.
