Game 11 vs AtoMc Black
Lightning
had an exciting weekend of hockey to start the new year! On Friday Jan. 2nd vs
AtoMc Black, Lightning (AtoMc Yellow) went home victorious. In the closing
seconds of the 1st #4 L. Cabral flew down the ice and deked out the goalie
for the 1st goal of the game with a mere 20 seconds of play remaining in the
1st.
No goals were scored against Lightning during the 2nd due to the offensive digging of #6 T. Le & the defensive effort protecting the house by #2. S. Ritchie. Black was called for tripping at the buzzer closing the 2nd. Lightning scored a power play goal at 8:42 in the 3rd when #14 K. Curtis-Wolfe hammered the puck at the net, the rebound dropped to #4 L. Cabral and quickly made it 2-0. Adrenaline pumped Lightning immediately scored another right after the face off when #2 S. Ritchie assisted the goal scored by #6 T. Le at 8:30. Lightning would go on to score one more goal with 1:02 left in the game when #4 L. Cabral made a sweet one timer pass to #7 B. Uniac in front of the net. Goalie #1 C. Carter started the new year with a shut out after making super saves including (but not limited to) a beauty break away save and a gorgeous glove save (with 38 seconds left in the game)! #15 M. Williamson played an excellent all around game in both ends (getting it out & keeping it in). #2 S. Ritchie seemed to be on jet fueled wheels all game since he was all over the ice when he was out there. #3 A. Farhood played an outstanding offensive checking game for his team. 4-0 final score.
