Game 8 vs AtoMc Teal
Hockey Blog by Gina Wolfe

On Sunday December 7th the Lightning took on AtoMc Teal for the second time this season.  The 1st period didn't produce any goals from either team but Lightnings # 8 D. Song was digging hard to get puck possesion for his team, #14 K. Curtis-Wolfe hustled hard and #12 L. Rowbotham made beauty passes to his team mates.

With 3:37 left in the 1st #10 B. Barnes warmed up the penalty box when he was called for roughing. Teal started the 2nd period strong but the great defense by #11 J. Weber and goal tending by # 1 C. Carter kept Teal off the board. #14 K. Curtis-Wolfe went to the sin bin at 7:47 for tripping, but #17 J. Corman did a great job icing the puck to kill off the penalty. With patience and determination #4 L. Cabral put Lightning on the board scoring the 1st goal of the game, he carried it up the ice held the puck until a lane opened up, visualized his shot and buried it. 1-0 Lightning at 2:42. A super pass by #6 T. Le almost lead to the next goal but Teal's goalie was having a great game and denied the atempt! In the closing minute of the 2nd, Lightning was fighting a heavy forecheck in their own end for what seemed like forever, but #8 D. Song fought hard and cleared the puck out of Lightning's end to ease the tension. Teal was called for hooking with 18 seconds to go in the 2nd period but the Lightning were unable to capitalize. Throughout the 3rd, #3 A. Farhood did awesome following the play and was right on the puck. The 2nd and final goal of the game was scored with less then 3 minutes of play remaining, #7 B. Uniac forced the turn over flew up the ice and deked out the goalie! 2-0 Lightning would be the final score. All game #15 M. Williamson and #12 L. Rowbotham must have had wings because those boys flew around the ice! The whole Lightning team was incredibly impressive! Best game I've seen so far all season! Super job watching the blueline and keeping onside all game boys! Teal goalie was tremendous but Lightning's goalie #1 C. Carter went home with the shut out! Woot woot!
