Wolves Move On To Semis
The Minor Bantam Gold Wolves faced Kitchener Red in Game 3 of their playdown series.  A win would allow the Wolves to advance to the semi-finals.

The teams played to a scoreless first period before Kitchener got on the board in the second.  20 seconds later, they added another to put the Wolves down by two.  The Wolves needed something to get them going and Harris provided that spark by winning a race to the puck in the Ranger zone, skating to the middle of the ice for a shot, and banging in his own rebound.  Gerth picked up an assist on the goal.  A minute later, some good work down low led to the tying goal when Henderson skated behind the net and fed a pass to Gerth.  The goalie got a piece of it but Hyjek was there to fire the puck in the net.  The game remained tied going into the final two minutes of regulation time, with overtime looking like a real possibility.  The Wolves had other ideas however as Hyjek put Waterloo ahead with 1:39 showing on the clock.  Henderson and Gerth again had the helpers.  Harris put the game and series on ice in the final minute with an empty net goal.  Gies picked up the win in goal.

Congratulations to the Wolves on winning three very hard fought games against Kitchener.  Waterloo moves on to play London Green in the semi-finals.  Good luck to the Rangers in their next series.
