Wolves Lose Close One to London Green
THe Waterloo Minor Bantam Wolves faced off against London Green in a key game on Sunday night.  Green was 3 points ahead of the Wolves in the battle for second place going into this game.

The Wolves came out of the gate strong and had a couple of point blank scoring chances thwarted by the London goaltender.  Green capitalized on their first scoring opportunity to take the lead.  Soon after, they made it 2-0.  The Wolves kept up the pressure and they were rewarded when Hyjek took a pass from Jensen to narrow the lead to one goal going into the second.  Gerth also assisted on the goal.  Gerth then tied it up early in the second when he converted Jensen's pass from behind the net with a wrist shot to the top corner.  McBain picked up the other helper.  London regained the lead less than a minute later however.  Chappelle made several big saves to keep the Wolves within reach.  London made it 4-2 in the third when they converted on a 3 on 1.  With the net empty, and just over a minute to go, the Wolves were all over Green and were awarded a penalty shot when the net was purposely pushed off.  Gerth was money as he skated in and deked the London goalie to make it a 4-3 game.  The Wolves still had time to tie it up and they gave it everything they had but came up just short in what was a very eciting and well played game by both teams.

Waterloo travels to London next Saturday to play West London.
