Wolves Fall to Navy Vets
The Pee Wee Gold Wolves were hoping to make it a six point weekend but the Woodstock Navy Vets dashed those hopes coming up with a big 2-1 victory to keep the Vets alive in the chase for the final AA spot.
Woodstock was the hungrier team from the start as they outworked the Wolves. They were rewarded with the opening goal coming on the power play in the first period. Derek Jensen tied the game for the Wolves in the second when he banged in a Bryson Henderson shot that rebounded off the end boards. Woodstock regained the one goal advantage before the end of the period though. That would be enough as they were able to hold off the Wolves in the third period. Sawyer Poetker was solid goal keeping his team in the game. Henderson was the game's Hardest Worker.
The Wolves next action comes next Sunday against the Burlington Bulldogs.
