Wolves Strike First in Semi vs London Green
The Pee Wee Gold Wolves opened the sem-finals against London Green on the road.

The Wolves got on the board early in the first while on the power play when Justin Labrie knocked in a rebound off a Thomas Dunbar shot.  Brandon McBain picked up the other helper.  Green turned it up a notch as they tried to get the equalizer but Reagan Gies was the difference as he came up huge for the Wolves.  His biggest save came in the first and could be the save of the year.  The London player broke through all alone and made a great move on Gies, leaving an open net but Gies stuck out his glove to take away a sure goal.  The Wolves had a huge second period, adding three more goals.  Dunbar scored early in the second when his innocent looking shot managed to find the back of the net.  Thomas Lunz assisted on the goal.  Labrie scored his second of the game when he came off the bench just as a Wolves' penalty was ending and took a pass from Luke Matthews to get the breakaway and the goal.  London called a time out to try to turn the game around but it was the Wolves who responded after some good work in the offensive zone.  Josh Stephens won the battle along the boards and fed a pass to Labrie.  Labrie poked the puck to a wide open Derek Jensen at the side of the net and Jensen did the rest.  Labrie completed the hat trick in the third on a great second effort as he banged in his own rebound.  This came after some great work by Bryson Henderson in the slot.  A nice 5-0 win for the Wolves in Game 1 of the semi-finals.  Labrie and Gies were the players of the game.

Game 2 goes Sunday afternoon at RIM Park.
