Epic OT Win Sends Pee Wee Gold to Semis
The Pee Wee Gold Wolves travelled to Brantford for Game 6 of a tightly contested series.  Both teams had 5 points and this game would decide who would advance to the semis.

The teams did not disappoint as they both gave it all they had and put on quite a show for the fans.  The Wolves took the team first message to heart and left their name bars in the dressing room.  Both teams battled hard in the first period hoping to be the first to get on the board.  Brantford struck first when they scored on the power play.  The Wolves tried hard to get the equalizer but the Brantford goaltender stood tall and kept the Wolves off the scoresheet.  The 99ers went up by two mid way through the second, scoring off a rebound.  Despite being down 2-0, Waterloo kept coming at Brantford and were rewarded late in the second when Derek Jensen's off-speed slapper found its way past the goal line to make it a one goal game.  Josh Stephens and Brandon McBain picked up the assists.  The goal gave the Wolves renewed energy and they picked up the tempo in the third.  Waterloo came close to getting even on a few occasions before Justin Labrie scored a highlight reel goal after a couple of dangles and a backhand to the top corner to make it 2-2 with just over 5 minutes left in the third period.  It looked like Brantford would regain the lead less than a minute later but Griffen Harris was able to clear the puck away from the goal line.  Regulation time came to an end with the score 2-2.  This series would be decided in overtime.  Less than three minutes into OT, Kyle Bordessa skated over the Brantford goal line and sent a high wrist shot that found the top corner of the net and sent the Waterloo players, coaches, and fans into their celebration.  Thomas Dunbar assisted on the winning goal.  Sawyer Poetker was rock solid in goal for the Wolves, making several huge saves, especially when the Wolves were down two.  A great team effort boys!

The Wolves now head to the semis to face London Green.
