The Mountain Wolves had an tough weekend to finish off the month of October.
The boys had a hard fought loss to a much bigger & faster team from Woodstock, including their gigantic goalie, on Saturday, Oct. 27th. It was a valiant effort.
On Sunday Oct. 28th they faced the Waterloo Wild Wolves
for a rematch for the Timbit Cup.
Amazing defensive efforts by Owen Yager & Carver
Combe who kept the Wild Wolves at bay while our goalies did a tremendous job in
net all game. Kayden Curtis-Wolfe gave
the Wild Wolves a hard challenge with his checking, digging & hustle.
Giving himself a few great chances but the puck just didn't want to go in the
net.
Down by 2 goals, in the 2nd period, Tyler O'Hearn would
score a sweet 1st goal for the Mountain Wolves assisted by Ethan Hay who
followed up with a goal of his own, unassisted, sliding it past the goalies
skate blade deep in the far side corner of the net. Then with only 8 seconds left in the 2nd
period the Wild Wolves would take the lead once again.
In the third Tyler MacDonald assisted the top cheese goal
scored by Makhaya Campbell to tie up the nail bitter with 12 minutes remaining
in the game. However, with less than 4
minutes to go the Wild Wolves took the lead for good to win the game 4-3 and
take this installment of the Timbit Cup.
Great effort by all Wolves. Keep up the hard work.
