Double Header Weekend
On Sat, Dec. 1st the Mountain Wolves hosted the always tough St. Catherines Hurricanes. The boys faced the challenge of playing new positions they weren't accustom to and did a fantastic job!

The Hurricanes took an early lead in the game with just over a minute played. WIth a few minutes to go in the 1st #22 Makhaya Campbell tied the game with a quick wrist shot to the goalies stick side, making it 1-1. It was a defensive battle all game with Bryn Hurl-Loat and Kayden Wolfe leading the defence corp on this day!!! Unfortunately the Hurricanes would eventually sneak one past the Wolves goalie to take a 2-1 lead. With 2 minutes to go in the game the Wolves coach pulled the goalie but the boys just couldn't get past the big Hurricane players to tie it up. Final score 2-1 St Catherines.

Sunday Dec. 2nd, the Wolves faced off on home ice vs Brantford 99ers. Let me start by saying #5 Nolan Evans played a tremendous game, hustling all over the ice every shift while #10 Nolan Romhild played a fantastic defensive game from the drop off the puck! #33 Mitch Simmons made some beautiful saves throughout the game, even after sustaining an injury the game before! #68 Ethan Hay was on fire the whole game!!!! He got the Wolves rolling in the 1st using his his blinding speed down the ice with great stick handling finished by roofing it over the goalies head.
Withg 3 minutes to go in the 2nd period 99ers tied it 1-1. At the 2:24 mark Romhild got 2 minutes for body checking (one of his strategies) which aloud #68 Ethan Hay to produce a short handed replay of his 1st goal, just at the opposite end of the ice to give the Wolves the lead they would not give up. With 12 minutes remaining in the game #2 Tyler MacDonald scored a big goal, assisted by #5 Nolan Evans. Less than 3 minutes remaining Ethan Hay made a nice pass to #19 Nolan Reesor who took a shot that rebounded out to the ready & eager #66 Cameron Hache who buried his first goal of the season & the game finisher.

Great all around team effort produced a 4-1 victory!
