Game 2 - Hespsler Tournament
For the third game in a row, the Wolves put up a doughnut in a tidy defensive game against the South Huron Sabres.  It was a great team effort that saw every player chip in on the win regardless if they hit the score sheet or not.

The first period was once again the strongest for the team as they boys came out all guns blasting.   Edwards scored by banging home a rebound 0:41 seconds into the game and the Wolves didn't look back.  Half way through the period, Proulx stole the puck from the defense and finished his shot low blocker side. As time wound down, the Wolves got a late PP were Hawthorn had a great play to get low in the zone and through a puck to the net.  Not sure what it hit...however it slid between the legs of the Sabres goalie for a 3-0 lead.

We started to see a cycle in the corner for the first time from the boys, that had the Sabres lost in their own end for long periods of time.  This allowed the boys to start passing to the open man or the open space and activate the defense for more shots to the net.  Matthews made 2 huge saves in the period on a partial and full breakaway and calmly steered the puck in the corner on both attempts.  Late in the second, Proulx and Waters went down on a 2 on 1 and Proulx slide the puck over to Waters who couldn't quite beat the goalie, who slid across and made a great save.

The third period saw more strong play in the South Huron end, however the boys couldn't add to their lead. They outworked their opponent again for most of the period, however let a couple of odd man rushes into the Wolves end.  Both attempts saw Matthews make the save and hold on for the whistle.  He didn't have to make a lot of saves today but looked vary solid when called upon.

Keep up the hard work and stay hungry for that puck!  Good luck against the Stoney Creek Warriors in the morning and against the Richmond Hill Stars in the afternoon.

Hardest workers this game were Tauer and Waters.
