Wolves vs Woodstock Navy Jets
The Wolves continue their strong play again today against one of the stronger teams in Tier 2 standings. It was a chance to send a message to the rest of the division that they came to play.

Right off the opening draw, the Wolves were playing very strong bringing the pressure right into the Navy Jets end. In fact, Young opened the scoring with a booming shot finding the top corner.  The boys never looked back.  It was hard not to notice that the entire team played very aggressive on all 50/50 pucks as well as attacking any blue jersey that had the puck.   A nifty pass from behind the net from Waters found a wide open Proulx who made no mistake burying the puck for a 2-0 lead.

The hunt for the puck continued into the second period, which was very noticeable through the neutral zone.  The boys gave the Jets almost nothing to work through and limited the zone time in the Wolves end.  The defensive play was so strong that they may have only gave up one shot against the entire period.  Any zone time in the Wolves end was quickly turned around with a great break out and great passing.  Wei found a loose rebound in the front of the net and buried it 5 hole.  Shortly after Edwards pulled off a spinning backhand just inside the post to put the Wolves up 4-0.

The third period was very tidy as the boys stuck to the game plan and kept up the pressure.  A simple "1 deep" plan worked almost to perfection, which forced the Jets to make the plays deep in their own end. There were a few more shots on the Wolves net in the third, but not many "home plate" opportunities which were calmly dealt with by Craig.

Shout out to the defence that played a great game today by not only holding the blue lines but also playing the puck into open ice for the forwards to pick up all over the ice.  Well done!

The hardest worker today went to Wei but must have been a hard decision for the coaches as everyone left it on the ice.

See you next week in Burlington.
