Game 3 vs Stoney Creek
The Wolves continued their roll as they played in the historic Galt Arena for an early morning tilt against the Stoney Creek Warriors.

The boys came out hungry again right off the opening draw and took the play to the Warrior end early and often.  Not many chances came through the Waterloo blue line that wasn't quickly broken up by the Wolves. The ones that did were met by some craft tending by Craig.  Late in the period the puck came back to Young who blasted a low hard shot that was deflected by a Warriors defender top corner to break open the scoring.

The second period saw some see saw battles that was played well defensively by the Wolves. Flanagan had an open net late in the period but couldn't quite bury the puck just going wide on the shot.  Good try Owen! Shortly after, the boys went down for a 4 minute penalty, that they killed off to both end the period and start the third.

The Wolves quickly went to the attack to go for more. Midway through the period, Hawthorn saw an opening and goes coast to coast, dekes through a couple defenders to break in on net and buries his shot high glove side to take the 2-0 lead.  With just over a minute to go the Warriors pulled their goalie just as Young broke free and slammed home an empty net goal for his second.

Very late in the period the Warriors had a last second push to the net.  They managed to sneak one in on the play, while injuring the goalie and taking a penalty at the same time with 1.6 seconds remaining.  Game ended 3-1.

What continues over the last number of games is the strong defensive play of the Wolves and the puck hunger.  Keep it up!

Hardest workers were Edwards and Young.
