Wolves Open Christmas Tournament
The boys started their 3rd tournament of the season at the 50th Annual Hespeler Olympics Hockey Tournament today.  The day was just what the Wolves needed to open for a strong start and to set the pace for the rest of the way.

The morning game against the nearby New Hamburg Huskies started very strong with with a lot of puck pressure and some great passing in all zones.  In fact, the Wolves had the majority of the possession for the period.  A play in the corner saw Babensee dig it loose and pass the puck over to Edwards who quickly roofed it to open the scoring.

The second period opened up a flurry of attempts at the Wolves net where Craig stood tall down low and stopped 4 or 5 shots in one sequence alone.  The boys lost their hunger for the puck for most of the period however played positionally well.  Late in the period and off the draw Waters took a shot that rebounded to Werezak who rifled at net. Huskies goalie made the save blocker side but the puck landed on the stick of Proulx who made the wrap around look easy for the 2-0 lead.

Leaving where he left off, Craig continued his strong play and saved a number of pucks that the defense cleared leaving no rebound opportunities.  The was also a number of great first passing plays out of the zone from the defense and wingers that kept play out of the Wolves end.

Stay hungry for the puck!
