WOLVES BATTLE BURLINGTON RED
On the eve of Halloween, things were looking spooky as everyone is getting set for a little trick or treating fun.

The boys skated hard today against a feisty Bulldog team and settled for the tie.  They were the better team for most of the game however couldn't find a second goal to take home the win.  Mr Matthews stood tall on a number of close calls at the end of the game to keep it tied up at 1.

The first period was likely the boys best as they came out hungry for the games first goal.  A couple of shots off the post or over skated pucks haunted the boys as most of the action was in Burlington's end with strong fore checking and puck pursuit.

Just over 2 minutes into the second and the Bulldogs took the 1-0 lead after shaking off the cob web's from being dominated in the first period.  The Wolves took a quick howl at the full moon and came out like a pack continuing with their strong puck pressure. As time was eerily close to the end of the second, the puck swung around the boards where Werezak picked it up, skated to the face-off dot and let it go through the legs of the goalie. 1-1 after 2 periods.

The third period saw the Wolves take some penalties late which made it hard for the go ahead push.  Even being a man down for 6  of the last 8 minutes didn't stop the boys from taking a couple of quality chances at the net.  Wei took the puck just over the home blue line and just blasted by 2 Bulldogs defenders, deaked the goalie cleanly and just couldn't beat the empty net as the puck sat on the goal line.  If you ask me, some Halloween haunting was at play with that puck...

Great effort boys and keep up the hard work.  Good luck next weekend with the double header in London.  Bring home some points!

Players of the game today were Werezak and Matthews.

Be safe and have fun trick or treating tomorrow.
