Great Effort
We had a hard fought weekend. Gina you have captured the intensity of the games.

Thanks again, I know everyone loves reading your blog.

On Saturday Jan. 11th the Timber Wolves battled hard in Hamilton against the divisions 2nd place Phantoms. In the 1st & 2nd period it was impossible to score on the Wolves since every defence man was on cue, playing to his full potential, keeping everything out of the wolves end & barely letting it out of the opposing end, along with the rest of the Wolves forwards & centre men! That being said, the score after the 1st & 2nd period sat at 0-0! Goalie #31 Ryan May closed off his portion of the game with yet another SHUT OUT! Fantastic job & stupendous saves Ryan! 1:25 into the 3rd (13:35 left in the game) the Phantoms  were in the penalty box for roughing. At 12:58 the Wolves goalie with no help at the time got stranded & couldn't possibly stop the fast, break away, short handed goal that put the Phantoms in the lead. Hamilton Phantoms would go on to score 3 more goals in the 3rd because the Wolves over exerted themselves, battling so hard earlier in the game & because Hamilton got some really lucky breaks. Final score was 4-0 Phantoms. The Phantoms had opportunities to score more goals, but #33 Liam Doherty made some outrageous & incredible saves after his team was tired out from so much fast paced, intensive hockey & couldn't always get there for him. Even though the Wolves lost, every player did a tremendous job & BOTH goalies did an outstanding job between the posts!

The following day (Sun. January 12th) the Wolves played at home against the Cambridge Hawks. Hawks took the lead early in the game at 8:30. No other goals were scored in the 1st but defence man #68 Raine Lusted made multiple, superb attempts on net from the point! #7 Jacob Bender had a great offensive period in the 2nd & the Wolves tied it up before the 3rd began. #44 Ryan Class passed the puck to #10 Liam Karges & he gave it up to #77 Cameron Buck, who buried it short side at 2:30, tying it 1 a piece. The Hawks took the lead once again at 10:28 in the 3rd on a power play, while the Wolves were serving a 2 minute penalty for too many men on the ice. The Wolves tied it back up though when #10 Liam Karges assisted the goal by #44 Ryan Class. Another top shelf beauty added to Class's record at 5:37.   The 2 teams fought it out for the rest of the game but they each left the rink with a point. 2-2 tie.

Can't wait to see what the Timber Wolves have in store for us coming up!
