Brantford & Burlington Battle Weekend

Saturday Dec. 14th the Timber Wolves weathered a winter storm & made their way to Brantford to battle it out against the Saints. The 1st goal of the game came at 6:36 when #10 Liam Karges sneaked in behind the goalie. Just over a minute later #44 Ryan Class broke up & out through everyone & scored from the point at 5:32. At 2:09 #27 Kayden Curtis-Wolfe ended up in the box for tripping, leading to the power play goal by Brantford with 29 seconds remaining in the 1st. Less than a minute into the 2nd period, #7 Jacob Bender made a sweet pass up the ice assisting the breakaway top shelf goal by #22 Makhaya Campbell at 9:12. With just 35 seconds left in the 2nd period the Saints slipped one by the Timber Wolves goalie making it 3-2. The 3rd period didn't produce any goals & the Timber Wolves finished with a 3-2 win. #77 Cameron Buck & #13 Carter Milne put in a super effort all game digging & hustling, #88 Luke Collins made some excellent passes & #31 Ryan May did a great job between the posts!

Sunday Dec. 15th the Timber Wolves battled the Burlington Bulldogs in Wolves territory. The Bulldogs got on the score board 1st with a goal at 7:14. Fighting back, #3 Ryan Godwin hustled up the ice, deked out the defence & buried it just above the goalies blocker to tie the game at 6:38. Strong offensive playing & great team work lead to the beauty assist from #10 Liam Karges from behind the net as he passed it out front to #22 Makhaya Campbell who stuffed it top cheese at 5:16. Burlington tied the game up 2-2 with a power play goal five seconds prior to the period end, while #7 Jacob Bender was serving 2 min. for tripping. In the 2nd period the Bulldogs managed to score twice more. #27 Kayden Curtis-Wolfe got a bad call from the ref for tripping with 8 seconds left in the 2nd & Burlington landed themselves another power play goal because of it at the 13:22 mark of the 3rd. Burlington scored their 6th goal with 12:14 to go in the game. #33 Liam Doherty made some incredible saves to prevent the Bulldogs from scoring again after that. Final score 6-2 Burlington.
