Intense Weekend

Sat. Oct. 26th the Timber Wolves travelled to Woodstock & faced the Jr. Navy Vets. No goals were scored in the 1st period but both teams made lots of nice attempts. At the 8:15 mark of the 2nd, Woodstock put their team on the score board. The hard hustle of #14 Robbie Young & beauty back checking of #68 Raine Lusted kept Woodstock from scoring again in the 2nd. #66 Jeffrey Luo was called for body checking 39 seconds before the close of the 2nd period. 6 minutes into the 3rd, Woodstock scored again making it 2-0 with 9 minutes & 3 seconds of play left in the game. #3 Ryan Godwin was fantastic at clearing the puck while #10 Liam Karges served a penalty at 8:23 for body checking. #66 Jeffrey Luo put the Waterloo Wolves back in the game with a short side, top corner goal with 4:26 to go in the 3rd. The hard digging of #27 Kayden Curtis-Wolfe paid off as he dug the puck out & away from 3 Woodstock player's & passed it up to teammate #22 Makhaya Campbell who flew across the ice & far side pinged it off the post & into the net at 1:11! Final score 2-2 tie!

Sun. Oct. 27th the undefeated, 1st place Hamilton Phantoms came to Waterloo & the Timber Wolves gave them a run for their money! The Wolves came out strong & played a stupendous game! Less than 2 minutes left in the 1st period #44 Ryan Class had a clean, win off the draw in the Phantoms end, setting up #27 Kayden Curtis-Wolfe who passed the puck off to #10 Liam Karges who slid it to #77 Cameron Buck who buried it! A minute later with 50 seconds to go the Phantoms tied it up. Right at the buzzer ending the 1st period the Phantoms took the lead. At 9:19 in the 2nd Phantoms made it a 3-1 game. The fantastic efforts of #9 Richard Wang, #13 Carter Milne & #7 Jacob Bender all over the ice kept the Phantoms chasing the puck for the rest of the 2nd period. In the 3rd #27 assisted the puck up to #44 Ryan Class who made a nice shot on goal that bounced off the goalie & #77 Cameron Buck was right there to put it in at 12:45. The Phantoms would score one more for a final score of 4-2.

#33 Liam Doherty did a superb job between the posts both games & all the Timber Wolves players showed off some of their many great talents this weekend!
