Game 17- Sun Feb. 24th @ Acton
The Major PeeWee Waterloo Wolves travelled to Acton to challenge the Acton PeeWee Select team and it was worth the drive.

The first period was a good back and forth skating game as goaltenders at both ends were challenged and put on a fine display of goaltending skill. The Wolves got the first goal of the game with just under a minute of time to go in the first period. J Witzel scored a beauty on a pass from B Hooper and M Beech.

The second period was also similar to the first period it was back and forth as this Acton team was displaying some very good defensive style of hockey. It almost took the full ten minutes for the next goal of the game to be scored. Acton got the second goal of the game and tied the game at 1.
The Wolves, R Read responded right away twenty seconds after Acton tied the game up and scored the third goal of the game. It was a big momentum gaining goal with assists going to B Schal and C Droog. Then eight seconds after we scored the third goal of the game B Schal shot one in from just outside the blue line and it bounced and tricked the goaltender as the puck bounced into the net. R Read and M Beech got the assists on this goal.
The second period ended   3-1 for the Wolves but there was still ten more minutes of hockey to play.

The third period was then a good disciplined display of Wolves style defensive hockey and T Farrows came up with some big saves to bail us out a few times. K Chappelle also played a great first half in net for the Wolves, as he didn't allow an Acton goal at all!
B Timms got the fifth goal of the game as he shot the puck just under the crossbar on a great feed from A Henhoeffer.

Thank - You Acton for a great challenging game and yes it was worth the drive to Acton.

Looking forward to our rematch on Sat March 2nd @ Albert McCormick 6pm.
