Game 19 - Sun March 3rd @ Dofasco
On Sunday March 3rd The Waterloo Peewee select Wolves drove down to Hamilton above the escarpment to challenge the Dofasco Peewee selects to an afternoon match.
The Wolves knew they were in for a very challenging game, since the last time we played Dofasco they were right with us for two full periods. Dofasco opened up the the scoring of the game just after five minutes of play and got the second goal of the game two minutes later. The Wolves were down two goals after seven minutes of hockey and they were in for a game and looking forward to the competition. J. Witzel answered the call with a beauty of a goal on a pass from B. Mirt. It was now a 2-1 hockey game after one period of play.
The second period was a good back and forth display of Peewee hockey. A. Henhoeffer managed to score the tying goal of the game for the Wolves assisted by B. Mirt and K. Duquette.
Halfway through the third period R. Read got the go ahead goal of the game with assists going to his linemates B. Schal
and K. Duquette. Dofasco managed to tye the game up at 3-3 with three minutes to go. This was an exciting game with a good competitive opponent. The game ended a 3-3 tie even though Dofasco pulled thier goalie and we had an empty net to shoot at
All in all, it was a good game and good challenge for the Wolves, since we were down by two goals and battled back and even held the lead!
