PeeWee Select Wolves bring home the Trophy!
Congratulations to the Major PeeWee Select Wolves on winning the Richmond Hill Stars Select Tournament! Good job Players, Coaching Staff and Parents for all your positive support.
The PeeWee Select Wolves skated really hard and got alot of pucks on net to claim victory over the weekend.
It wasn't without some adversity, but we Wolves learned a very valuable lesson in sportsmanship and the importance of emotional control over this past weekend.
Although we lost our first game of the tournament to a very disciplined and well coached team, we were able to win our next four games to capture the championship.
The Final Championship game was a very close tight checking game. We were able to get a two goal lead during the game until the Avenue Rd Ducks started to apply the pressure. Despite the fact that we had to play the last two minutes of a championship game shorthanded our goaltender K Chapelle and defensive core were able to prevent the Ducks from tying the game and forcing overtime.
I want to thank the players on the Select Wolves team for a great learning experience but most importantly a fun weekend! The Wolves skated really hard mainly due to (short shifts) and a good work ethic. The boys stayed positive, focused on the goal and tried really hard all while having fun.
We are going to continue on the road to team and personal development and improvement! Thanks to all the Players, Parent's and fellow coaching staff for all your support and positive encouragement.
