Pair of Draws for Pee Wee Wolves
The Pee Wee Gold Wolves kept up their hard work and were rewarded with two hard-fought ties.

On Sunday, they faced the Stratford Warriors.  The Wolves got on the board first when Will Lennox blasted a low shot past the goalie while on the power play.  Derek Jensen assisted on the goal.  Stratford quickly responded with a power play goal of their own before the period was over to even the score.  The Warriors took the lead scoring off a  breakaway in the opening minute of the second.  Early in the third, Samson Walsom gave a quick pass that sent Josh Stephens in alone to tie the score at two.  Liam Kelly, on loan, from the Pee Wee MD team also picked up a helper.  Stratford regained the lead with just over 5 minutes to go in the game, capitalizing on a goal mouth scramble.  The Wolves did not give up though and were rewarded when Thomas Lunz stopped a clearing attempt at the Stratford blue line and fired a seeing-eye shot that found the top corner.  The Wolves had a good chance to take the lead in the final minute when they were given a 5 on 3 power play but time ran out to make the final 3-3.  Josh Stephens was the Player of the Game for the Wolves.

The Wolves then made the Monday night trip to London to face London Green.  Previous games between these two teams have been very tight and this one was not any different.  The teams were scoreless after one period of play.  Very early in the second, while on the power play, Luke Matthews gained the offensive zone and fed a pass to Jensen at the point.  Jensen's blast ended up in a rebound that was calmly deposited in the back of the net by Stephens to open the scoring.  The Wolves headed into the final frame hanging on to the one goal lead.  Green controlled much of the play in the third but Sawyer Poetker stood his ground in goal for the Wolves.  Just when it looked like the Wolves might escape with the win, Green capitalized with the man advantage with just over a minute to go to tie the score at one.  Poetker was the Player of the Game for the Wolves.

The Wolves have two games remaining in the regular season.  They will host Waterloo Black on Saturday before hosting London Green on Sunday.  The Wolves are currently in a battle for third place.
