SEMI FINAL SERIES TIED AT 2PTS EACH with HURON PERTH
GAME #1 (WATERLOO 4 HURON PERTH 3 OT)
In game 1 Saturday the Wolves came out motivated and with passion and purpose. Carrying most of the play in the 1st period. Waterloo opened the scoring on a goal by Jaokb Wiffen assisted by Braedon Hancock. Thirty seconds later the Wolves made it 2-0 on a pretty 3 way passing play. Goal was scored by Jordan Hoekstra and assists went to Jamie Collins and Gary Mantz. The Wolves kept the pressure on in the second period but were unable to find that crucial third goal. Going into the 3rd period the Wolves got into some penalty trouble and Huron PErth scored 2 goals on the PP to tie it up.
Shortly after the Wolves repsonded to go ahead 3-2 on a goal by Mantz assisted by Hoekstra and Tayler Trachsel. The pace and energy of the 3rd period was high. Back and forth chances. Late in 3rd period Huron Perth pulled their goalie. With 22 seconds left they scored to put the game into overtime. In overtime Waterloo's Jamie Collins had a penalty shot. Unfortunately he did not scored but 2 shifts later he collected himself and scored the game winner on a good shot. Assists went to Mantz and Scott Pedersen
GAME #2 (HURON PERTH 3 WATERLOO 0)
In game 2 on Sunday the first 8 minutes of the game were back and forth and fast paced. After a weird boucne on a point shot Huron perth took a 1-0 lead. 16 Seconds after Wolves turned over the puck and Huron Perth pounced on it and made it 2-0. Waterloo battled hard to try to get those 2 back but just couldn't find a way to beat the Huron Perth golaie who was sharp. Midway thru the 3rd Huron Perth scored to make it 3-0 and a tough hill to climb for Waterloo. Wolves did not give up and kept pushing but came out on the wrong end of a 3-0 loss
