Sunday March 4th- Waterloo vs Fergus at the Fergus Community Centre

We had the pleasure of a lovely drive on this sunny Sunday afternoon to the quaint community of Fergus, Ontario. A beautiful facility with two rinks and a swimming pool, along  with various meeting rooms and a nifty “Great Wolf Lodge-ish” mock-up of the Elora Gorge. Anyway, on to hockey… As the game commenced both teams were full of energy, but after several flurries of activity in front of the Fergus net, Curtis with the help of Zach and Matthew managed to pop one in between the bagpipes. Josh, with the help of Tristan and Matthew followed with a second goal and Josh added again another shortly thereafter. Fergus retaliated with their first goal causing a wee bit of tension amongst the visiting crowd.  Colin, with Casey assisting helped add some breathing room scoring number four for Waterloo.  However, a series of penalties on our side and the sense that the troops were getting worn out, led to more Fergus goals. Then to the delight of Waterloo, Brody from Matthew and Curtis made a spectacular fall and sweep goal- quite a site to say the least and the fans and team roared. Ovechkin would have been proud. Casey scored our final tally, with Curtis and Dawson assisting. Great end to the weekend, team!

MVP went to Matthew- Congratulations!

Final score- 6- 4 for Waterloo
