February 11, 2012- Waterloo vs Brantford at AMCE- (3-3)
The first game following the Richmond Hill tournament.Tonight we reciprocated with hosting Brantford on what would prove to be a rather interesting evening. If you recall, on a stormy December 23rd visit to their lovely Gretkzy Centre, we managed a 10-1 victory. Tonight’s game proved to be a different story. Brantford led the scoring in the second period and then managed another goal shortly thereafter, to the delight of the visiting crowd. We retaliated with Xavier scoring, followed by Josh to tie up the game. A penalty shot on Brantford by Dawson, that the goalie got a piece of but still blew past him put us ahead. But, unfortunately not for long with Brantford lucking out with one more goal to tie up the game. They treated it like a victory. Inside information has it that they only played their stronger goalie that night. A comment was made that the lads looked a bit tired. This may have been post- tournament stress syndrome, or due the fact that this was their second game for the day, house league was earlier. In any event, hopefully we will have some of our mojo back for this Saturday’s game.
