Novice Ice Wolves Take Gold At Barrie Tournament
(by Greg Brown) Congratulations to the Waterloo Novice Ice Wolves, who won the championship this past weekend in Barrie.

The Ice Wolves played five great games over the weekend, resulting in a big win in the final game Sunday. The tournament had a lot of “firsts” for the Ice Wolves, some of which included:

Easton Schnarr, Callahan Reesor, Cooper Way, Kyle Maloney and Jake Anderson all scored hat tricks over the weekend.

The goalie duo of Nathaniel Miloje and Mischa Stastna combined for 4 shut-outs out of 5 games.

Christopher Brown and Connor Rowell each scored their first goal of the season.

The defense moved up to the forward positions, displaying their puck-carrying talents.

Coach Shawn Way earned his first career coaching tournament championship.

The Ice Wolves had a great time and enjoyed lots of fun this weekend, including multiple games of hallway hockey, “man-hunt”, swimming and plenty of meals out as a team. Special thanks again to our social committee for arranging the weekend meals, activities and accommodations.

Congratulations to our Waterloo Ice Wolves and coaches on a fantastic weekend and tournament, and a hard earned championship.
