(by Greg Brown) Feb 12 saw the Ice Wolves finish a
successful weekend with a strong win over the visiting Brantford 99ers.
Showing the same level of energy and spirit as the day before, the Wolves played a strong offensive game, with some solid defense and goal tending thrown in.
Raising their level of play were forwards Christopher Brown, Cooper Way, Kyle Maloney and Ryan Hanson. These four produced a number of scoring chances on offense with hard skating and smart passing.
Defensively, Aiden Coffin and Cal Reesor played a strong game for the Wolves, continuing to back check and eliminate break-a-ways from the Brantford team.
Having another solid game in net was goaltender Nathaniel Miloje, keeping the Wolves in the game with his goaltending.
The result was a strong 4-2 win for the Ice Wolves, and another 2 points to move up the standings.
Kyle Maloney led the scoring by recording a hat trick, with 2 of his goals coming unassisted. Maloney’s other goal was assisted by Michael Rintchie and Cal Reesor.
Cooper Way also scored an unassisted goal.
Keep up the great work, Wolves, as you continue your playoff push.
