Waterloo Ice Wolves Have an Up and Down 2 Weeks
(by Greg Brown)

Leading up to the league’s tiering of the novice division, the Waterloo Ice Wolves finished out the last three games of the first round. Despite two losses and a win, they held on to earn a spot in tier one for their next 8 round robin games.

The first two games saw the Wolves have tough losses to the Hamilton Cyclones and the Waterloo Timber Wolves. The Ice Wolves lost 4-1 to the Hamilton Cyclones, with the lone goal scored by Callahan Reesor; assisted by Easton Schnarr. The second game was a 3-2 loss to the Waterloo Timber Wolves, which saw a very close game played by both Waterloo teams and outstanding goaltending by Misha Stastna. Kyle Maloney scored both goals for the Ice Wolves, with assists coming from Jonnie Dinner and Callahan Reesor.

Finally a win came in the final game of the first round. Kyle Maloney led the scoring with 5 goals, 3 unassisted with the other helpers going to Mike Rintche and Ryan Hanson. Rintche also scored an unassisted goal of his own in a 6-5 win over the Hamilton Tigers.

Good luck to the Ice Wolves with their upcoming round-robin schedule.
