Schlueter Hyundai vs. Pillers & Lowes
Schlueter Hyundai finished off a busy weekend with two more victories against Pillers and Lowes.

On Saturday Schlueter Hyundai (7-0-4) battled against first place Pillers (8-0-3), coming away with a 4-1 victory.

The line of Dietrich, Flanders, Brookes, and Noble starting things off quickly scoring a powerplay goal just over two minutes in.  Before the end of the first the line of Duquette, Davis, and J. DeMers would score to give Schlueter a two goal lead heading into the second.

The team continued its strong play early in the second as defensemen Domaratzki scored with the help of Dietrich, Flanders, Brookes and Noble.  Pillers would score late in the period to make it a 3-1 game.

The score would remain that way until late in the third period when Duquette, Davis, and J. DeMers added an empty net goal to seal the deal.

Anderson, Wigmore-Lopez, and Horvath played a strong game generating many offensive opportunities but more importantly had a stong defensive effort, leading the way in a well played defensive game by the team overall.

The defense of Domaratzki and Jones, Garland and Steffler, along with Elhedhli and Haney all played superb positional hockey.  Holding the highest scoring team in the league to only one goal is an accomplishment.

C. DeMers played in goal making difficult saves look easy when called upon.

On Sunday Schlueter (8-0-4) played against a resilient Lowes (1-11-2) team.  Schlueter started the game rather slow until Duquette, Davis, J. Demers, and Noble were able to score on the powerplay almost six minutes into the first.  The line would score once again fourteen seconds  into the second giving Schlueter a 2-0 lead.

Later in the period in the midst of a change Duquette, Dietrich and Flanders would score to put the game out of reach.   Brookes also played well with Dietrich and Flanders as the line continues to put up numbers offensively.

Anderson, Wigmore-Lopez, and Horvath once again played well but could not buy a goal in the contest.  They continued to work hard and are due to break out offensively.

The defense Jones and Domaratzki, Elhedhlie and Haney as well as, Garland and Steffler all played well helping the team finish off the weekend allowing only one goal through three games.  With the improvements in their defensive positioning the defense core is proving tough to beat.

C. DeMers once again played a solid game in goal recording his fourth shutout of the season, his second of the weekend.

Great weekend Schlueter...good luck to the Minor Atom Select team next weekend in London!
