Novice Black go up 1-0 in the Championship series
Championship series off to a hot start with the rabid Wolves, looking to take a bite out of the Bulldogs!

It was a sunny afternoon down highway 6, with the sun shining and a pack of Wolves looking to steel back home rink advantage.

After having the team go through sickness, the Wolves were healthy and revved up to play in game one of the Eastern Alliance Championships.

The Wolves came out as a Pack and put immediate pressure on the Bulldogs.   Forcing turnovers in the neutral zone, gaining position in the offensive end and playing relentless defence, was exactly what the Wolves were able to execute.  All due to having quick feet and being first on the puck!

In the first period, the Wolves owned the play only allowing 3 shots against, with Coombsy standing tall.  After a quick face off in the defensive end the Fiddler moved the puck up to Blacker who found himself with more room than what he expected and was able to get a great shot in on net, with G-Mac picking up the rebound and beating a very good Goaltender,  Guy La - Flor.  Being up 1-0 going into the second was a good feeling but the Wolves knew these feisty Bulldogs would not go away easy.

Second period caught the Wolves on their heels a bit as the Dawgs came out with a vengeance.  With some solid defence and back checking, the Wolves quickly caught their composure with some added inspiration from the Booster Bus ladies being loud and proud, got the boys fired up.   Again, the forwards were peppering Guy La-Flor who was unbeatable in the Bulldogs net.  The period ended with the Wolves still up 1-0.

The third period was on us like a fart in a tornado.  The Wolves came out again with pints of energy and turbo in their boots!  With our forwards cycling the puck down low continuing their barrage of shots, they did not give up. The Fiddler held the line and got the biscuit to Lucky Luky Juksie who made a beauty of a stretch pass to Potsy-P, who was yelling "Sacra Bleu" to Guy La-Flor, and placed a hot shot over the sizzling goaltender's pads putting the Wolves up by 2.  With Two minutes left in the game, B-Dups picked up the puck in the corner, with his head up, fed a wide open Double Deuce, who put it where Grandpa keeps his false teeth, making it a 3 point spread.  The Bulldogs pulled their goaltender to get an extra attacker and the Wolves fought the boys off.  With the clock ticking down, a shutout on the line, the Bulldogs had possession and as quick as Grandpa, without his teeth in could say Slabbadainvienovich" a point blank shot on Coombsy came out of nowhere.   With his cat like reflexes, made a highlight reel of a glove save to keep the shutout!

The buzzer rang, the fans went wild, with the Wolves regaining home ice advantage and up one game to none, against a very good Bulldogs team.  The boys know that they will need to play like they did and even better the next game, knowing these feisty Bulldogs will not go away easily.
