Wolves MD Novice Black on the road to take home 2 of 4 points
Twas the weekend before Christmas and all through the Wolves House, 4 points up for grabs, so they took them all out!

With the Wolves on the road and in enemy territory, they were revved up and ready to battle.

Game one of two, were against the feisty Burlington Cougars for a Saturday matinee.

Going into the Wave Centre, the young Wolves were looking to take a bite out of the Cats.  The arena was frigid and so was the hospitality.  The Wolves came out flying but so did the Cougars.  Coombsy made several highlight glove saves, that looked very much Fleury-esq to keep the game close.
After being outshot in the first two periods, the Wolves managed to hang onto a 2-2 tie going into the third.  Goals being scored by Niesz and Potsy-P for the good guys.
Third period saw solid play by the D-Men.  Hutty went coast to coast, with a little peanut butter and jam, but could not squeak it past the stingy Cougars goaltender.  Jukes Pilarzy, Big Slates and B-Dups all adding to the score card to put the Wolves comfortably ahead to win 2 points.

Game 2 of 2 - going into Kitchener facing Rangers White.

With a second weekend in a row, the Wolves had home and away battles against the Rangers.  With revenge on their minds, the Wolves proved that the battle for second place was a duel.
With the first period being evenly matched and the Wolves outshooting the Rangers, the period ended in a 1-1 tie, going into the second.

The second period, again was as equal as a contest and with both teams being limited to 6 shots a piece and each scoring a goal each to go into the third period tied at 2-2.

Unfortunately, the Wolves were gassed and could not muster any quality shots in the third with DVR standing on his head to keep the game within a goal.  The Wolves lost THIS TIME, but know that WE BELIEVE we are champs!

Big Slates and Double Deuce each scoring goals on the game were not enough.

The boys wrapped up the weekend with a holiday gathering to celebrate the mid season success.  We have seen our shots for, increasing month over month, with our shots against decreasing.  Our average goals for, increasing by period and our dueling goaltenders increasing their save percentage in the likes of a decreased goals against average.

As we take some time to spend time with our families and look forward to being on the good list for Santa, the boys also look forward to a Christmas tourney in beautiful Brantford...especially this time of year!
