Blood, Sweat, But No Tears
Well it wasn't the prettiest win, with sixteen minutes in the penalty box; however, Waterloo earned a scrappy victory Sunday evening against the Woodstock Jr. Navy Vets.

The first period of play was respectable. Waterloo had some great shot attempts but the Woodstock goalie denied the Wolves the points on the board. Once again, #66, C. Eamer was successful in slipping the puck into the back folds of the net, earning the first point on the scoresheet. As the second period began it was clear that this would not be a normal hockey night in Waterloo. Players on both teams picked up the energy level, attacking the puck, and in some cases the player. Hancock, #2, had some great scoring chances but unfortunately, the puck just couldn't escape the glove of the Woodstock goalie. Hancock continued with some great passes out in front and smart rebounds off the boards. With a small scrum in front of the Woodstock net, Miller #3 found himself in the thick of the battle and came out needing to go to the line for a penalty shot. With patience and skill, Miller faked right and then swerved left, taking a low shot just past the pad of the Vets' goalie. From there, play action got a little heated. The coaches needed to remind our players to stay in control and focus their energy on passing and shooting the puck. In the end, Waterloo regained their composure and placed two, third period goals in to strengthen their lead and victory. Final score, 4-0 Waterloo.
