What a Great Season
Well it was the end to a great season last night for the Waterloo Wolves MD Black as they faced the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Red squad. It was an amazing game for the Wolves, as they gave it their all in an effort to extend their season.

Waterloo Black kept Kitchener Red to one goal for the majority of the game. Using the entire ice surface, the players defended their zone, using the width of the ice to push the Rangers players to awkward angles. Our forwards pressed the Red defence, allowing for a few shot opportunities. Wolves goalie, #31 Bernier, had an amazing game, keeping Waterloo in the game. In the final minute of the third period, the Wolves chose to pull Bernier, giving them a man advantage. Both teams called time outs in the final minute of game, knowing that they had to strategize for the final push to either victory or tie. However, puck luck was not in the Wolves favour Thursday night. With a shot off the post, many bobbles in front of the net and some great shots stopped by the Rangers goalie, Waterloo just could not catch a break. Final score 1-0 meant that Kitchener Red would advance and that it was the end of the road for Waterloo Wolves MD Black.
What a great season! The coaches could not have been more proud of the players, both on and off the ice. This was truly an amazing group of young men. Whether is was before the game, during warm-up, in the change room, on the ice, at tournaments or team building activities the boys were like a family. They spent time getting to know each other, supporting each other and encouraging one another. With an impressive record of 33-18-4 during the season, the team had it ups and downs but worked through them as a team.
With a final salute, at the end of last night's game, the boys paid respect to their parents for all their time, energy, support and committment to the team. Without such a wonderful group of parents, the season would not have been as successful.
Thank you gentlemen for a great season and best wishes for future success and fun as you continue your hockey journey!
