Novice MD Red Win big on Superbowl Weekend staying strong in second place
The Wolves received hot goaltending in a heated affair in Brantford against the overage 99ers

The opening period consisted of some back and forth battles with a speedy game on both sides of the red line.  The only scoring came from the Big Monty to put the Wolves up by one. Rowe played like a super hero kicking out his legs and diving out to stop all but one of eleven, that came his way.

With the game tied at 1 a-piece, the second period was ours.  Strachs and Nater being the lone scorers in the second.  This put the Wolves up 3-1 in a battle that saw several back and forth plays and great defense.  Rowe closed out the greatest game of his young goaltending career, with Reider coming in off the bench to close out the period.

The Third period truly showed the overall battle this team has with great defensive, both with the forwards coming back to cover off our defense and the defense battling down low to keep the game close.  Reider followed up Rowe’s outstanding play with some greatness in between the pipes.  Brantford peppered Reider with 15 shots in the final frame potting in 2 to tie the game.  Reider continued to stand on his head to give the Wolves a chance…this left The Big Monty to take matters into his own hands and score in the last minute and a half to put the boys up by one.  The game became chippy with some rough stuff and cheap shots, but the Wolves kept their composure to win the game with class.  Both Rowe and Reider are in the running for the William M Jennings Trophy with this outstanding performance.

The Wolves have a couple practices this week to prepare for the Cambridge Hawks Red and the Brantford 99ers-3 this weekend
