Novice MD Red brings in the new year with a big win
The Wolves kicked off 2018 with a bang to open the playoffs in the win column

The Wolves came out a touch hesitant in the opening period, but played a solid defensive style limiting the Hawks chances of producing any scoring.  Big Monty stepped up and took matters into his own hands by having a solid rush to wire a bullet putting the Wolves up 1-0, closing out the first period.

Early on, in the second period, Dr ‘Dre rapped his way in front of the net to pop in a juicy rebound past a sprawling Hawks goalie to put the Wolves up by two.  Rowe came up big on several occasions keeping us in the lead.  Unfortunately, the Hawks pressed hard, cutting the Wolves lead in half closing out the second period.

The Wolves got even hungrier going into the third period with Nater wheeling down the ice like Flash Gordon on his way to a shoe sale on boxing day and popping in a beauty to put the Wolves up 3-1.  The swooping Hawks batted away at a loose biscuit to again cut the lead.  The Wolves got fired up after Strachs whipped in a howitzer to put the Wolves up again by 2.  Nater, closed out the scoring solidifying the win by a sizeable margin.

This win puts the young Wolves at the top of the leader board, with more games played thus far.  Every game will be increasingly tough for the young men, but they are ready for the challenge.

The Wolves rest up and prep for a rematch against the Cambridge Hawks White team in their barn, January 13th.
