Novice MD Red falls short of a 4-game win streak against a tough Brantford 99ers team.
The Wolves closed out the 2017 portion of their year with a valiant effort but came up short.
The Wolves came out flying in the first period with Reider making some big saves to keep the score even at zero a piece. Monty came up big on D making some great rushes similar to Drew Doughty. Monty made a great play at the 3:59 min mark to make a nice saucer pass to Nater who potted the first goal of the game putting the Wolves up 1-0. This would conclude the first period
Early on in the second period, Nater would high-tail-it down the full ice to put his second of the game an dput the Wolves up by 2. The stunned Brantford team woke up and started to put on the pressure. The 99ers scored a couple tough goals to round out the second period having a tied game going into the third period.
The final Frame was a back and forth battle with end to end excitement.The 99ers potted 3 unanswered goals, with Jonesy taking a nice feed from Couz to keep the game within 2. Rowe made some late game saves to later hustle off the ice to add the extra attacker. The 99er's goaltenderwas a stingy young man who wouldn't let the Wolves pot another.
The young Wolves have grown into young men in 2017 with the guidance of solid coaching and hard work. With some scouts in the stands (Santa and some Elves on the shelves) watching the game, the young Wolves are sure to cash in on some most deserving time off and rewards for their best behaviour!
